Teddy
Teddy is a playful three year old toy doodle, born and raised in Kentucky - a true country boy at heart. At seven lbs he brings a ton of smiles everywhere he goes; especially when he hops in and out of his favorite place... his purse. Before Teddy was born, Brenda was working in Chicago when the pandemic broke out. Since she was able to work remotely, she traveled around the country with her husband Quintin as his job involved a lot of traveling. Eventually that led to them settling in Kentucky, where Quintin was originally from.
Teddy came into Brenda's life during a difficult transition as she struggled to adjust to a new state and a new way of living in a rural town, away from family and friends. As Brenda turned closer to God for guidance, the journey ahead wasn't going to be easy but it would be incredibly rewarding. Little did she know, God had a bigger plan for her than she did for herself. Teddy became a light in Brenda's life, illuminating everyone he came across with his charismatic personality. Since Brenda and Quintin continued traveling for work, Teddy quickly learned to love long road trips and plane rides. As a puppy, Teddy visited some of Chicago’s highest skyscrapers all the way down to the Southernmost point in Key West and everything in between. It was during a business trip to Chicago that Brenda understood Teddy's gift. It was an early morning at Nashville’s International Airport by a busy coffee shop, where Brenda and Teddy along with a half-awake and irritated crowd, impatiently waited for their java. Teddy, unable to resist the haunting aroma of coffee (which translates to pup cups), suddenly

popped his little head from the top of the pet taxi, and what came next remains a vivid memory bright as day. People continued to come in and out, but as soon as they spotted Teddy’s little bobbing head, all the frowns turned upside down. Particularly, a rather large and aloof gentleman that started laughing and yelling “There’s a pup in that purse! There’s a pup in a purse!” as he walked away. The energy in the room instantly shifted, it was as if all of a sudden Brenda and Teddy were somehow transported to an entirely different gate. That moment manifested itself in a variety of ways as time went by. They continued to visit new places and meet new people, the magnetic “Teddy effect” continued to bring people together everywhere they went. Ultimately, painting a clear image that Teddy’s small but mighty mission would be to share God’s loving spirit with others.
After Brenda and Quintin’s work and travel tours came to an end, they decided to move to Florida for a fresh new start. Once again, the moving blues were back. To keep busy, Brenda continued Teddy’s training and went off to complete advanced training, AKC’s Good Citizen Certification, and Therapy Dog Training. Brenda wasted no time and continued Teddy’s Therapy Dog journey by reaching out to the Comfort Canines of Christ, a highly respected group recommended by Teddy’s trainer. After completing the application process, Brenda and Teddy received the amazing news that they were accepted into the program. Within a few weeks, they were shadowing their incredible mentors Team Thor and Team Gracie Mae!
Team Teddy is looking forward to sharing God’s love with others.
